Sunday Sail

by Mike Hestness 5. May 2009 20:40

We took a nice easy cruise aboard Bella on Sunday for the first part of the trip. The weather was unusual as the wind was blowing from the south and it was actually quite warm even though it was overcast and sprinkling a bit at first. After cruising up to Lover's Point in Pacific Grove we headed out to check our crab pots. We pulled the pots and ended up with 4 Dungeness crab, he we come dinner! After dropping the pots again we set sail and headed back to Monterey. What a great day on the bay!

Chris, I wanted to thank you for the great fun time we had the other day, and i'm sure we will repeat that again today! Crabbing, or just sailing away on Bella is a pure joy - i never thought I could de-stress so much just going out on a boat and watching the Monterey bay passing by us!
I have to say yo make for a great host too, i felt at home in my "own" boat! even thought i don't have one!

keep up the good work, or should I say the great sailing!
have fun,
Carlos

I just wanted to share one of my most amazing memories with anyone interested in taking an adventure on The Bella. A little while back I went out on The Bella just for the day, which is the most elegantly comfortable boat I've ever been on. All I wanted to do was relax and go somewhere tranquil and to feel like I could really get away from it all. As I was laying on the deck getting some sun, and listening to Michael Buble, I hear Christian yelling from behind the wheel. I stand up on the front of the deck to find that we are sailing through hundreds of dolphins. I mean "hundreds". I've never seen anything like it in my entire life, it was the most incredible thing I've ever witnessed. So Christian tells me they are friendly and want to play...and I'm thinking;"I must be dreaming". So I lay down on the deck and stick my hand out to touch a particular dolphin swimming along side the boat. Not only do I get to pet this stunningly beautiful wild animal, but it starts to play with me! For a good 2 to 3 minutes, it is turning on it's side to look at me, spitting up water at me, and making sounds at me every time I laugh out loud with pure amazment!   It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. So, thanks Christian for taking me out on The Bella, she is a beautiful boat and you and always great company!
